Tooling division, leader in technology

The die construction department is located in Cinisello Balsamo, in the Milan area. It is Ernesto Malvestiti SpA’s original site, where we design and manufacture new dies for sheet metal cold forming.

We work closely with our customers so every project becomes unique, allowing us to continuously improve our know how.

 

The division is composed of:

  • tool design department with highly trained designers who use the best 2D and 3D modelling systems
  • highly automated work centres
  • one of the best equipped die-sink and wire-cut EDM departments in Europe (more than 30 operating machines)
  • assembly department

 

Lamination dies for elettric motor

Following a partnership with Widia in the sixties, we became one of the first companies in the world to produce carbide dies for the production of laminations for electric motors. In 1980, we produced an experimental die for the production of packed helical rotors. Subsequent enhancements (thanks to our own blanking department) allowed us to develop the "Autograf" system.

Malvestiti has now produced thousands of "Autograf" dies, supplied all over the world in industrial sectors operating with the highest level of technology.

In 2010 we decided to enhance the performance of this system with the launch of "Autograf new generation".

 

Fine blanking dies

Introduced into Italy by our company in 1965, fine blanking is our flagship technology: we have contributed to its development and popularity in all industrial sectors.

 Our fine blanking dies are used in our Blanking Division, ease of maintenance, speed in obtaining spare parts and absolute reliability.

 

Progressive dies

We design and manufacture progressive dies. With this type of die, parts pass through a number of work stations during the production process, making it possible to combine blanking with forming operations such as coining, bending, half-blanking and drawing. Over time, we have progressed from small progressive dies up to dies of 2000x1000 mm, which offer maximum flexibility and specialisation in highly competitive and demanding sectors such as electromechanics, electronics, automobiles, textiles, domestic appliances, etc.
